Bill Olmstead

At Hamilton, Bill was a member of Alphbill olmsted pica Delta Phi and a member of the Track Team.  After graduation, he attended the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, graduating in 1970.  After graduating from Penn, he went on active duty with the United States Air Force, serving in Japan.  He finished his tour of duty in 1972, and, after his discharge, he practiced General Dentistry in the Finger Lakes Region of New York until 1974.  That year he returned to Philadelphia to begin a residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital (the nation’s oldest hospital) which is an affiliate of the University of Pennsylvania.  He completed the residency in 1977 and practiced in several locations before returning to Western New York in 1985. He established a two office practice with multiple hospital affiliations and retired in 2005.  

Since retirement, Bill has stayed involved professionally by sitting on the Malpractice Claims Review Committee of the Seventh District Dental Society.  For the last ten years, he has also been doing Forensic Odontology for the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office in Rochester, NY.  For the last 25 years, he has lived on Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes Region.  As a result he has been a long term member of Wine Country Classic Boats which is a local chapter of The Antique and Classic Boat Society.  Retirement has allowed him to become much more active in his chapter’s activities, and he recently finished a two year term as the chapter’s Commodore.  As a part of his boating experience, he is the owner of a 1955, 25 ft. Chris-Craft “Continental”.
